English version

Speaking in English has always been my nightmare. When I was a child, I was sent by my teacher to participate in an English speech competition. I was very hard at memorizing but I forgot the words on the stage. The judges stared blankly until the time was up and I was ousted from the stage. From then on, it cast a shadow over the English-speaking, and they were afraid to avoid it.

When I was in high school, I wanted to improve my English speaking. I participated in the Model United Nations club and forced myself to participate in conferences. During the whole English conversation, I thought that such an environment would make me speak fluently. on the contrary, I was even more afraid to speak, the students around me spoke English as fluently as if English was their mother tongue. Even if there was something I wanted to express, I just silently retreated to the side and listened. When it came to speaking in English, I retreated even more.

When I was in college, I tried a new method to practice English: I went to an English cram school for work and study. I originally imagined that I would have an immersive learning environment, but it turned out to be the opposite. There is no opportunity to practice oral speaking, only simple conversations with children.

When I was in my senior year in university, I made up my mind that I wanted to go to graduate school. Cheng Cheng University is the school I have always yearned for from high school to university. I devoted a lot of time to prepare for professional subjects, which took eight months. I was preparing for the written test subjects. Fortunately, I passed the written test, and then came the re-examination level, and then I found out that the re-examination level included an English interview !
This seems to be a strong blow from God, and the more I resist, the more it will become a high wall blocking my way.

I kept complaining that I didn’t practice English speaking well before and was very annoyed. When I thought that my studying day and night for the past eight months had ruined my postgraduate entrance examination because of my poor English speaking, my friend shared amazing talker to me, she said I can try it out. I met Teacher Charity, and teacher suprisingly salvaged my English speaking.

The biggest problem with my English speaking is that I don't have the confidence to express myself, but when I practiced with Teacher Charity, the teacher was very kind and gentle and guided me to say what I wanted to say. I slowly built up my confidence, and I also found out that the previous training method I tried was wrong.
"Before, I tried to leapfrog monsters too much. I need to improve step by step where I am not good at it, rather than becoming a master myself in a place where masters gather."

Every class has very solid training. From the beginning of my self-introduction, I didn’t know how to prepare at all. With the teacher’s step-by-step guidance, from writing, and repeated practice, to reading, and with mock interviews.Every time I finish 50 minutes, half of my brain cells die, because every time I strengthen a lot of deficiencies, and every time I finish the class, it is very rewarding. I want to be more active in preparing for the practice questions. It also made me feel deeply that my English interview is improving!

On the day of the interview, I entered the interview classroom with the teacher's teachings and blessings. I was shocked and excited that all the questions asked by the interviewer had been practiced with Teacher Charity before! The answer to each question is in my head, allowing me to answer with confidence.

The final grade came out, and I got 87 points, which is not too high, but through this study with the teacher, I had no fear of English speaking, and I also successfully enrolled by the National Chengchi University. Now, I am waiting to study at the dreaming school.
My English speaking still needs to be improved, but I will not be afraid anymore, because I have found a suitable way to learn, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to Teacher Charity, who helped me put the last piece of the dream puzzle.

  • very cool story!
